I recently attending an event in NYC that was definitely one of my favorite events in quite some time. Held at a magical garden tucked away behind 2nd Avenue, the New York Marble Cemetery played host to an evening celebrating Dreaming Tree Wines, co-founded by musician Dave Matthews and award-winning winemaker Sean McKenzie who was on hand along with Dave Matthews Band head chef Fiona Bohane. The wine was thoughtfully paired with dishes created by Chef Bohane which were inspired by the bands tour stops. It was such a treat not just to meet her but also having her take the time to share with me and my friends her inspiration behind the dishes and which wine she selected to be served alongside each one. Here’s a peak into the event, and more of the food + wine pairings such as my personal favorite, this glorious and buttery Chardonnay with grilled halloumi + strawberries.
It was a festive night with great decor, cute areas set up to hang with friends from picnic blankets and tables to an oversized game of Jenga. Yes, that’s me and my favorite red Lancaster Paris bucket bag enjoying the wine with my friends Christina and Jason. My taste in wine varies and I love many types from deep read Cabernet to a all-natural Chablis. Chardonnay has a special place in my heart, especially those with a crisp, buttery flavor. Dreaming Tree Wines has created an amazing portfolio of wine but the Chardonnay was out of this world. I have already gone to their site to locate which wine stores in my neighborhood sell it and will be buying a few bottles this weekend and many more after.
